Higher
Ground Ministries started in 1991 by Pastor Ron Roberson and was aired
on Time Warner Television ( known as Brighthouse Network) once a week.
In 1994 he started an evening service at 7000 Wible Road and rented the
church building from Pastor Duane Meadors at New Life In Christ Church;
the first service opened with 7 members. Pastor Meadors and his
congregation helped establish the church with their support of
attendance in celebration services held once a month on Sunday evening
until the church had its own growth.
The
church was growing rapidly when in 1998 the church was blessed with
their own building at 3637 Hughes Lane in Bakersfield. By 2002 the
church had doubled in size. Two services were held every Sunday morning.
Pastor Ron started searching for a larger building to accommodate the
congregation and the rapid growth.
God
Is Good! Higher Ground Church successfully purchased a larger
facility at 912 New Stine Road which seats approximately 550 attendees.
HGC has church services every Sunday morning at 10:30AM.The mid-week
service is held on Tuesday at 7:00PM.HGC offers a Sunday evening bible
study at 5:00 pm and "Bible Links" (small groups) on Monday, Wednesday's
and Thursday's. What A Blessing!!
God
is Good! On March 22, 2009 Higher Ground Church and New Life In
Christ Church united permanently to form a New Higher Ground Church. The
two churches had started having joint Celebration Sunday evening
services. These services together proved to be a stepping stone toward
an acknowledgment of “Like Vision” and “Spiritual Unity” between Pastor
Ron and Pastor Duane.
Higher
Ground Church is an inter-denominational, full gospel fellowship. Our
goal is to reach out to the local and international community. We now
air our television ministry with Brighthouse Network. A future goal of
this church is to reach out into our community and the nation through
the broadcast ministry. We want to bring the message of salvation
through Jesus Christ to win souls for the “Kingdom of God”.
Thank You and God Bless
